THE VENUE

The Elm Tree is Lincolnshire’s intimate wedding venue. We pride ourselves on being a cosy, romantic space. So, being asked to be the setting for this shoot was an immediate yes. The Elm Tree offers perfectly formed micro weddings all year round, but Christmas weddings tend to stand out as particularly special. Our exclusive use of the house and gardens gives couples the chance to move in for the weekend and truly make the venue their own. A small team of three who run The Elm Tree, but like diamonds, great things come in small packages. With five-star service and assistance with your wedding coordination, right through to home-baked afternoon teas for your family and friends, we aim to offer you your wedding your way. Styled shoots provide an amazing opportunity to showcase the versatility of the venue. Additionally, we loved welcoming all these incredible suppliers into the house. And, we are thrilled with the results. What a talented bunch of people they are.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Lindsay of The Jasmine Cottage Studio is a true life Wedding Photographer. Capturing the essence of her couples in their most honest form with each image filled with its own personality. Getting to the heart of every wedding day and its story is what Lindsay is here to do, as well as inspire future couples with all the photographs she feels incredibly lucky to take. The story behind this shoot struck a chord with Lindsay, as it took her back to her childhood memories of Christmases of old and her love for the world of Narnia. Everything about the day was magical to her and evoking this mood within her photography was what she set out to do.

STYLING & FLORISTRY

Rea from Confetti Sweethearts offers alternative styling and decor for nature-loving adventurous couples. I love helping couples unearth their unique love story and convey it through design aesthetics. I was thrilled to be chosen as stylist and florist to bring this Narnia-inspired concept to life. The forest green, black and brushed gold color scheme allowed me to capture the moody vibe Lisa desired, guiding my selection of decor pieces. As I developed ideas for the concept, I was eager to incorporate subtle nods to the Narnia inspiration to enhance the storytelling. This included hanging faux fur in the charming wardrobe, utilising the venue’s lavish red velvet chaise lounge to create picturesque backdrops adorned with an abundance of fresh wild foliage, which made them feel like they were immersed in the enchanting forest floor.

The table decor I selected exuded luxury, featuring moss-covered charger plates, forest green goblets for added texture, sleek black cutlery, and smoky black tea light holders that created a moody glow. Scrumptious Turkish delight served on a moss-covered stand provided the perfect finishing touch inspired by Narnia, while a lush arrangement of fern leaves and wild grasses down the center enhanced the enticing dining experience. The entire look came to life the moment the model stepped into this enchanting forest world.

HAIR STYLIST & CELEBRANT MAKEUP ARTIST

It was a real treat to have Natalie George from Natalie George Atelier create two amazing Christmas hairstyles for our Narnia inspired shoot. With over 25 years of experience, Natalie has a multi-award-winning hair and beauty salon, and her work is published in magazines, showcased on television, and featured in films. The brief for our bridal hair was to create a sharp, sleek, virile look that would complement a strong red lip. Natalie met the brief perfectly and was a true asset to the day, having also created a playful hair and makeup look for our Celebrant Alison. Natalie is such a team player and would be a perfect addition to any wedding morning, whether it’s makeup or hair, or both!

Our partnership with Lincs Weddings connects us with a network of talented local businesses, bringing global style to your doorstep. Our styling expertise shone through in the Christmas Forest shoot. We carefully curated dresses and hair accessories that not only met the creative brief but also created a stunning, ice queen-inspired look with plenty of sparkle. We’re passionate about showcasing Lincolnshire’s finest and creating unforgettable wedding experiences. Together, we deliver excellence in every detail.

I made a complementary invitation using natural fleck card, wrapped in a vellum sleeve, tied with the sumptuous green frayed edge silk ribbon. These scream warmth, cosiness and a richness which I wanted to portray. Lastly, for the stationery, I created a welcome sign which we placed among real foliage, vintage wood furniture and soft lighting. I used frosted acrylic to give the same flow throughout all the stationery. The quote I chose, I always knew it was you, is to reflect a love story based on a fairytale of soulmates and endless love. My stationery aim was to be able to see through faintly, to get a glimpse beyond but to appear mysterious. A shoot which is mesmerising, enchanting and incredibly magical.

CELEBRANT

My name is Alison Darlington and I am now retired, having run my celebrant company, Silver Hare Celebrations, for over five years. During that time, my role on each wedding day was to create ceremonies that were deeply personal, unique and memorable, celebrations that truly reflected each couple and stayed with family and friends long after the day itself. I loved getting to know couples well ahead of their wedding, shaping how the ceremony would look and feel, telling their love story through carefully chosen words, music and meaningful rituals, and guiding them through the whole process step by step. As an independent celebrant, I was able to conduct ceremonies anywhere couples chose, from gardens, barns and fields to beaches, hotels, pubs or restaurants, wherever felt right for them.

OCCASSION WEAR

Isabel from Hats & Tiaras Boutique in Cleethorpes, now retired, specialised in mother of the bride and groom occasion wear and beautiful outfits for all special occasions. It was a real pleasure to be invited by Lisa to take part in her Forest Themed Christmas Shoot and to dress our celebrant, Alison. For the theme, winter jewel tones of amethyst and green were chosen to complement the season. The first dress came from the Kevan Jon collection, with its rich violet colour contrasting perfectly with the forest setting. The second dress was a sage green design with floral sprays of lilies on the skirt, which worked beautifully with the winter greenery of the photo shoot.

Evelyn & Amos Accessories is an incredible local jewellery store that provided all of our bridal jewellery for our shoot. Our Lincs Weddings family were huge fans of all the items Natalie brought with her.
