Wedding Flowers

Brides carrying flowers is a beautiful age-old tradition. In Ancient Rome, brides carried or wore flower garlands, believing that flowers signify new beginnings, fidelity and hope of fertility. Now, while the tradition still runs true in most modern weddings, they are more of an accessory. One tradition which hasn’t wavered is the throwing the bouquet, with the belief that whoever catches it will be the next to marry.

When you are planning your wedding flowers, it is important to not just think of the bouquet. But you also need to factor in centrepieces, buttonholes, headpieces and church or venue flowers. Speaking to an expert wedding florist is a great place to start as they will be able to advise on what flowers are in season at the time of your wedding. In-season flowers are always the safe bet as they are likely the last longer and are less likely to have been shipped from afar.

Flowers can be expensive depending on the style or theme youre looking for so it is always advisable to meet with your chosen wedding florist early to discuss all of your options.
