After 5 years I thought it was about time I introduced myself!
My name is Lisa and I’m 33 years old. I have an incredible husband who hasn’t been able to escape the wedding world since marrying me! I’m also a very proud part-time working Mummy to Edith who is 2. I thought after having Edi I would slow down but quite the opposite. She has given me so much determination to keep pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
From a very young age I’ve always been creative, my oil paints and easels still reside in my home. Art and Design was the one subject I really excelled in and having a creative vision has never really left me.
My Dad has played a huge role in my life. Growing up he spent most of his time away from home, having created his own company at the age of just 21, he was a well respected Skipper within the Grimsby community. It wasn’t until I became much older that I realised the sacrifices he made to put a roof over our heads and the dangers he faced in the old and very distinctive light blue, danish trawler boats. At the age of 15 I was encouraged by my Dad to work every weekend at our local Post Office in North Thoresby. I realised back then that I had my Dad’s work ethic and dreamt that one day I would follow his footsteps and create my own business.
How did I get here?
It’s been a very exciting process creating Lincolnshire Weddings and one that’s felt right from the start. Back in 2014, barely over a year since becoming Mrs Templeman, I started The Lincolnshire Wedding Blogger. Born purely out of frustration, I just couldn’t shake off the feeling that I’d failed somehow because I really struggled to find suppliers that portrayed our relationship and style. I was sure that the perfect suppliers were out there but I became too distracted by the mainstream advertisements and couldn’t see the wood for the trees. I like to call it #bridefog! After starting the blog it became clear I wasn’t the only one finding themselves in my predicament. As the website grew so did questions from brides and grooms looking for recommendations. What struck me the most over the years, was how many amazing suppliers came out of the woodwork. Our beautiful County has an abundance of talent and I still to this day stumble across new and exciting suppliers.
This led to the biggest shift in direction for my website. I’d finally cracked it! After years of building up contacts, here’s all the suppliers that I’d been searching for, not one the same, with an abundance of style and budget options. They just needed a platform! Before I knew it, I had created a Wedding Directory for the County and Lincolnshire Weddings was born.
Lincolnshire Weddings has been such a creative outlet for me and I’m enjoying every challenge that creating your own business brings. I’m now on to the next chapter and that’s bringing the suppliers to you! I hope you find the perfect supplier here on the website or at one of my Lincolnshire Wedding Fairs. Please let me know if you do!
In-between creating content on Lincolnshire Weddings and organising fairs, you’re likely to find me in the countryside, with a decent pair of wellies beside my family and maybe a few four legged friends, whether that be dogs or horses!
